What data do you collect about my participants?
We don't store any data about where the surveys come from. Each response is assigned a random, unique identifier, and that's the only identifier associated with them.
How is our information stored?
All data is stored securely in a Microsoft Azure cloud database.
Can more than one person answer the NPC at the same time?
No, only one player can fill out the survey at once.
We recommend having one player per world per device, as multiple devices can connect to our servers at once. However, the survey and NPC automatically reset after each response is finished, so if your players take turns and fully complete the survey, the data will be recorded separately.
How do I run the command line to activate the NPC?
You need to follow the instructions on the Builder bage for your survey.
First, download and import the mcpack/mcworld file, and open the world up.
Next, copy the /connect command shown on the page, type a / in Minecraft to open the chat window, and paste in the command.
After you press enter, it will connect and sync with our servers.
What is an mcpack/mcworld file and is it safe?
These files store data for Minecraft Education, and store world and NPC data. They're designed by Microsoft to transfer worlds and data, and are safe. We use them to make it as convenient as possible to distribute our pre-configured survey worlds to you.
Why didn't all my questions save? I clicked save at the end!
In the survey builder, each question has its own save button. When you save one question, the page will reload to make sure your browser has the latest data. This means you need to enter and save each question at a time, otherwise the text you type in will be lost!
What happens when I delete something?
When you delete a survey, question or response, the data is removed from our servers. Due to privacy, we don't allow this to be restored, so be careful when deleting data!
